Twenty years after "Independence Day", 20th Century Fox released its sequel - "Independence Day: Resurgence" - with the challenge to appeal to both the older and the newer generations of fans.
Instead of just advertising the new movie, this fake 90-second infomercial happening "in the film world" bridges the gap between the two films and promotes a new kind of entertainment.
The video was released on Vice's tech and sci-fi vertical, Motherboard, and on Fox's social media channels, generating more than 2.5 million views and receiving coverage from Entertainment Weekly and The Hollywood Reporter.
